peshawar zalmi beats multan sultan

Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by six wickets in the fifth match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 at the National Stadium Karachi.

After putting 193-4 on the board, thanks to James Vince’s 84 and Mohammad Rizwan’s 41, the Sultans must have felt confident that they had enough on an NSK wicket that had been favouring bowlers.

However, Zalmi pulled off the run chase comfortably with a complete over to spare, thanks to contributions from everywhere.

Openers Kamran Akmal (37) and Imam-ul-Haq (48) provided a solid foundation, upon which Tom Kohler-Cadmore (53) capitalised and, when in the end, some late hitting was needed, the young Haider Ali, chipped in with an unbeaten 24 off 8 to get his side over the line.

Both the franchises faced defeats in their respective opening games in the sixth edition of HBL PSL.

The Multan Sultans made two changes to their lineup with Usman Qadir coming in for Sohaibullah and Shahnawaz Dhani making his debut.
