The Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) sixth edition’s glittering opening ceremony was held at Karachi’s National Stadium to celebrate the country’s biggest T20 tournament.
Atif Aslam, rapper Imran Khan, and model Humaima Malik will be present alongside the PSL 2021 anthem stars — Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, and Young Stunners — for the opening ceremony.
Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman Ehsan Mani addressed the ceremony where he thanked the fans for their enthusiasm as he welcomed them for the opening ceremony.
The chairman thanked the foreign players to visit Pakistan despite the ongoing pandemic.
“This year’s PSL is being played in only Karachi and Lahore and due to coronavirus 7,500 people will be able to [attend matches in] Karachi and 5,500 in Lahore,” he said.
The chairman said that that he was “hopeful” that if the situation remains stable then more people will be able allowed to attend the matches.
